  • Easier to get stuff in and out of a duffel bag than a backpack
  • Bring a second bag for dirty clothes

BEDDING

  • Ziploc-type bags are good for clothes
  • 2 Heavy trash bags for wet stuff or laundry
  • 2 towels - one for showers, one for swimming
  • Toilet articles - soap (liquid, or in a box), toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc. 
  • Boy Scout Handbook 
  • Mess Kit (Plate, Bowl, Cup, Knife, Fork, Spoon) labelled
  • Flashlight
  • First Aid kit (home made if you are doing First Aid Merit Badge)

No electronics, including cell phones.

 

SOME EXTRA NOTES ON EQUIPMENT

Bring a small canvas or net bag (like a grocery bag).  This bag can be hung from the end of the cot to hold small items off the floor (neat; therefore a good camping practice).  Another nice thing to bring is a large clear plastic box or jar; everything in it stays dry and easy to find cause you can see through the jar. 

 Bag each day's clothing in a labeled zip-lock bag (e.g., in the "Monday" bag: one pair of socks, one t-shirt, one pair of shorts).
